I can't believe I have almost survived the research class! It seems like a lot of work, but so very worth it. I knew this would be tough while teaching 50 5th graders, but it is helping me focus on my teaching as well. I realize that I have be "doing" action research in my classroom for a long time.
I have had many, many great mentors! it is the beginning of a long journey that I hope never ends! I know that I will hit snags in the road and it will become difficult at times, but right now I am ready to lead my first vertical alignment meeting and be done with it!
Have a great week all! I am working on the last assignment tonight and Saturday and I submit on Sunday morning after I proof read it, has worked so far!
See some of you in school law and I am so excited it is Dr. Abshire again!
Peace to all!
I can’t believe this class is almost over! Best wishes on your first vertical alignment meeting if you haven’t had it already.
ReplyDeleteQuick question, where did you find some of your sources for your literature review portion of the action research? My book came in; the one that was recommended to me on my blog. It is amazing! It is called Response to Intervention in Math by Paul J. Riccomini and Bradeley S. Witzel. If I come across anything on vertical alignment and math, I will let you know. Good luck!
On a side note, every time I try to post to your blog under my Google account it tells me I don’t have access to post to your account. Do you know why? Does this happen to you when you try to post to other blogs?
I will check my settings, but I think I have it set to allow anybody to post without a problem. I will look into it.
ReplyDeleteI am still looking for some literature for my book, I am looking at some Jon Van de Walle math books that address the way we are teaching math from K-5. I also used region 4 website to assist me. I can't remember the other region I pulled up. I am also using our K-5 curriculum to use the Vocabulary we are teaching in K-2 for sure. 3-5 is easier since I teach or have taught in all three grades.
I just ordered the math book you recommended. I am excited. I have to tell you I am nervous about my alignment meeting.
